Logan's Travels Through Ukraine

November 15, 2009

After arriving in Ukraine from Sweden on the SAS flight, I decided to walk around Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, to get familiar with the city. I saw lots of nice buildings and there were lots of nice people in Ukraine. I meet plenty of people and they were all friendly. I stayed in Ukraine from November 12, 2009 and I will be leaving on November 15, 2009 to head back to the United States. Also like Sweden, Ukraine does not use the Euro like most of Europe does. Ukraine uses the currency Hryvnya. In Ukraine most people speak Ukrainian or Russian. I really do not understand these languages because the letters look nothing like I am used to. I would try to give some of these languages, but I cannot write either of these languages. I will be staying in Kiev for three nights at the TIU Kiev Backpackers for only eight dollars a night. There are some interesting things to do in Kiev, but I have not found a whole lot to do in Kiev. After that I decided to walk back around Kiev a second time to try some things native to Ukraine. I tried some foods at some restaurants that are from Ukraine and that are from Russia. These food are very differnet from the foods in Italy, Ireland, and Sweden. After visiting these four great countries in Europe it is time for me to go home back to the United States. I am going home on a LOT and an American Airlines combined flight back to the U.S.A. I had a wonderful time in Europe and would love to come back.

Logan's Travels through Sweden

November 12, 2009

After leaving from Italy on the Ethiopian Airlines flight, I arrived in Sweden. I stayed in Sweden from November 9, 2009 to November 12, 2009 and I will travel around Stockholm, Sweden during this time. In Sweden they use Krona as the currency instead of the Euro, like most of the European continent. In Sweden most of the people speak Swedeish. Sweden is a very unique country, with lots of interesting places, things to do, and a colder climate than I am used to. I will be staying here three nights in the Acco Hostel, in Stockholm, for twenth four dollars a night. I have found lots of things to do in Stockholm and I will tell you about a few things that I found to do in Stockholm. I will visit the Historiska Museet, the Millesgarden, and the Stadshuset (City Hall). The first place that I visited was the Historiska Museet, and it was similar to the museums in Italy and Ireland that I visited, with lots of interesting facts on the country, the people in Sweden, and some other facts on the physical features of Sweden. The next place I visited in Stockholm was the Millesgarden. The Millesgarden was a neat place with lots of cool and unique flowers from all over Sweden and all over the world. the last place I visited was the Stadshuset or the City Hall. It showed how the people here run Stockholm and how they do their work. Now I must leave Sweden and move to my next country, Ukraine, but I would love to come back to Sweden, when I have more time. I am leaving on a SAS flight to Ukraine.

Logan's Adventures through Italy

November 9, 2009

After leaving Ireland on the Air France flight, I visited Italy. I arrived in Rome on November 6, 2009. I stayed in Rome from November 6, 2009 to November 9, 2009. I stayed in the Hostel and Hotel Positano for twenty six dollars a night. The capital of Italy is Rome, where I stayed. The currency used in Italy is the Euro, like Ireland. Most people that live in Italy speak Italian. An example of Italian is, "hi my name is Logan and I am from the United States" means "ciao il mio nome `e Logan e proven go dagli stati uniti". I visited three places in Italy as well, I visited the Montemartini Museum, the Colosseum, and the Pantheon. First, I visited the Montemartini Museum. It was similar to the museum in Ireland, that showed places of the country, history of the country, and people who have lived and do live in the country. After visiting the museum, I went to walk around the city and look at the buildings in the city. I also went to restuarants in the city and tried some real italian food. I tried the old style of pizza and other famous Italian foods. then, I went to the Colosseum, and looked at the place where lots of imporant things went on in the Roman Empire. Then, I went to the Pantheon, where there were also important events happened there. I loved Rome, and I loved everything about Italy, and I would love to come back and stay longer. I am now leaving on my next flight, an Ethiopian Airlines flight to go to Sweden.

Logan's Trip Through Ireland

November 6, 2009

I left Charlotte International Airport on November 2nd and I arrived on November 3rd in Dublin, Ireland. I stayed here from November 3, 2009 to November 6, 2009. This country is like the United States in some ways and some ways it is different. Their currency that they use is the Euro. Their languages that are spoken are English and a native Irish language called Gaelic. I stayed in a hostel in Dublin, called the Abraham House, for eighteen dollars a night. I visited three places, the Dublin Civic Museum, the Howth Castle Rhododendron Gardens, and the Dublin Zoo. The first place I visited was the Dublin Civic Museum. It was interesting and showed lots of history from Ireland's past like how it was formed and some of the famous people that have lived in Ireland. Some things that it showed were religions, from Christianity to other religions. After I visited the Dublin Civic Museum, I went to the Howth Castle Rhododendron Gardens. This garden is very beautiful, from the castle to the flowers. There are lots of flowers and plants from all over Ireland. After going to the Howth Castle Rhododendron Gardens, I went to the Dublin Zoo, where I saw lots of exotic animals, wildlife, and plants. I saw lots of animals from around the world to animals native to Ireland. Ireland is a beuatiful country and I would not mind coming back to Ireland and Dublin. I will now be heading to my second country, Italy, on the Air France Flight.
